Even coaches need coaches.

This week I’m in sunny Puerto Rico PR (my first time!) for a 3-day offsite retreat with my business coach, Jessica Fearnley and the other amazing women in her coaching cohorts.

I started working with Jessica last year, as I was at a place where I needed some coaching support if I wanted to grow my business.

Coaches need coaches too, and I needed a coach to help me:

  • Articulate and get past my limiting beliefs.
  • Help me see where I needed to get out of working in my business so I could work on my business.
  • Lean into areas of discomfort that were required for growth.
  • Challenge my thinking, and push me to think bigger.

Every leader and business owner needs and deserves a support team that includes a coach to explore these dynamics and ask them tough questions. Jessica has been a key member of Team Cynthia this past year.

As for this week, one of my clients asked me, “What does that even mean, to go on a retreat?”

I said it means:

  • Reflecting on the past year–what went well and what got in the way.
  • Declaring what I want for this year, financially and energetically … and being encouraged to go bigger.
  • Planning what I’ll need to get there.

Whether we call it an “off-site” or a “retreat,” this is work that every leadership team should do every year, guided by a skilled facilitator. (Hey, this is work I love to do with teams!)
So while it might look like just time on the beach, this photo was just a quick moment in between sessions of going deep and getting real.

The last time I did a retreat like this, I came away invigorated and fully re/charged.

The rest of this week will certainly be insightful and expansive. I can’t wait to see what gets generated!
